Blue Grotto oczarowała nas od pierwszego spojrzenia – jaskinie, których ściany migoczą wszystkimi odcieniami błękitu, i woda tak przejrzysta, że trudno uwierzyć, że to nie sen.

Blue Grotto to system morskich jaskiń w południowo-zachodniej części Malty, owiany kilkoma opowieściami i podaniami. Najczęściej przywoływana legenda sięga czasów starożytnej Grecji i Rzymu, gdy wyspę odwiedzali żeglarze i kupcy:

Według jednej z wersji w jaskiniach miały mieszkać syreny, które swym śpiewem wabiły marynarzy, podobnie jak w „Odysei” Homera. Błękit wody, mieniący się od promieni słońca, miał potęgować ich urok i sprawiać, że żeglarze tracili orientację, wpływając w zdradliwe, skaliste zatoki.
Inna opowieść mówi o demonie morskich głębin, który chronił wejścia do grot. Jego zadaniem było strzec ukrytych skarbów i zsyłać burze na tych, którzy próbowali wydobyć z dna morskiego cenne kamienie i perły.

Dziś Blue Grotto nie budzi lęku, lecz zachwyt. W słoneczne dni woda przybiera tu niesamowite odcienie błękitu, szmaragdu i turkusu, a legendy nadają miejscu jeszcze bardziej magiczny charakter – tak, jakby echo dawnych pieśni syren wciąż unosiło się nad falami.

Nasze stylizacje były małą grą z tym miejscem: on w półprzezroczystej, głębokiej niczym morze koszuli, ja w intensywnie kolorowej apaszce i turkusowych okularach – jakbyśmy sami stali się częścią tej morskiej palety.

Zdjęcia powstały w rytmie fal i słońca. Chcieliśmy, żeby uchwyciły wszystko: zapach soli, szum wody i to uczucie, że jesteśmy dokładnie tam, gdzie powinniśmy – w samym sercu Blue Grotto, zanurzeni w kolorach i w sobie nawzajem.

The Blue Grotto is a system of sea caves in the southwestern part of Malta, shrouded in several stories and legends. The most frequently cited legend dates back to ancient Greece and Rome, when sailors and merchants visited the island:

According to one version, sirens dwelt in the caves, luring sailors with their songs, much like in Homer’s “Odyssey.” The blue water, shimmering with sunlight, was said to enhance their charm and cause sailors to lose their bearings as they entered the treacherous, rocky bays.

Another tale tells of a demon of the deep sea who protected the entrances to the caves. His task was to guard hidden treasures and send storms upon those attempting to retrieve precious stones and pearls from the seabed.

Today, the Blue Grotto inspires not fear but awe. On sunny days, the water here takes on incredible shades of blue, emerald, and turquoise, and legends give the place an even more magical character—as if the echoes of ancient sirens’ songs still float above the waves.

Our outfits were a little play on this place: he in a translucent, deep-sea shirt, me in a vibrant scarf and turquoise sunglasses – as if we ourselves had become part of this marine palette.

The photos were taken to the rhythm of the waves and the sun. We wanted them to capture everything: the smell of salt, the sound of the water, and the feeling of being exactly where we belong – in the heart of the Blue Grotto, immersed in the colors and in each other.
